2020 Indoor Cup: January 11-12 Recap
Over this past weekend, the U13 boys & girls, U15 boys, and U17 boys kicked off the 2020 Eastern Pennsylvania Indoor Cup at In the Net in Palmyra. An exhilarating 122 games were played between 75 teams, with eight champions crowned! Thank you to everyone who made the first weekend a success. We're looking forward to the second weekend of the Indoor Cup on January 25 and 26.
Below is a recap of every division with interviews of the MVP of the championship match!
U13 Boys (Elite | Challenge | Premier)
- In the Elite Division, Nitro SC Shock Volt put on quite the performance, going 3-0 without conceding a goal in the championship game.
- MVP Interview: Grayson Nitro SC
- Fusion FC Phantom took the gold in the Challenge Division with their outstanding defense. They only conceded 1 goal in 5 games leading up to the Championship.
- MVP Interview: Draelyn Fusion FC
- It was a high scoring affair in the Premier Division with the Cantolao Jaguars outlasting the Bloomsburg Trappers Vstrikers, 5-4. Diego, the MVP for the Jaguars had this to say about the win, “[the win] feels really good after all the stuff we put to get here. I am really happy”.

U13 Girls (Elite | Challenge)
- Lehigh Valley United Black dominated their opponents with empathic wins in rout to the championship for the Elite Division. Kamryn, from LVU, noted that the win felt great and that she wanted to celebrate the victory with a slushy!
- MVP Interviews: Hailey and Kamryn Lehigh Valley United
- Towamencin SC Tornadoes and Lower Merion SC Furia were the two worthy finalist that battled it out for gold in the Challenge Division. The Tornadoes had a stellar 1 goal against in three games leading up to the final, but in the end, it was not enough to stop the Furia’s strikers. Lower Merion won 6-1.

U15 Boys (Elite | Challenge)
- It was a tense affair between Nitro SC Volt and Lionville City Volts in the Elite division of Sunday’s first final. After going down 3-0, the MVP of the match, Sebastian helped lead the comeback by scoring twice. The game went to PKs where Josh, Nitro’s GK, made the deciding save that put them ahead. The game winning goal came moments later. Nitro SC collected their second championship of the weekend.

- Hulmville Dortmund played without fear and taking every chance they got to take home the gold in the Challenge Division. MVP, Fawaz gave all credit to his teammates for their hard work while adding that the win feels great.

U17 Boys (Elite)
- Iron Valley United and North Union United closed out the final championship of the first weekend by putting on scoring clinics in all their games. Iron Valley outscored their opponents 15-2, while North Union outscored their opponents 22-5. North Union defeated Iron Valley in the championship match 4-1.
