PENN FC Lightning Win the 2021 USYS 17U National Championship!
The 2021 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida have concluded and PENN FC Lightning are National Champions! It was a record setting National Championship campaign as there was nine teams from Eastern Pennsylvania that competed against the best of the best in the country. At the end of group stage play, five teams advanced to the knockout stage where they battled it out for an opportunity to play for the National Championship. In total, there were two Eastern Pennsylvania that advanced to the finals: Philadelphia SC Coppa 05 Rage and PENN FC 04 Lightning.
PENN FC 04 Lightning became the first girls team since 2016 to win a National Championship and became just the fourth Eastern Pennsylvania team to do so. It was an amazing journey for PENN FC Lightning as they finished their season going three for three at the State, Regional and National level. Congratulations to all the teams that competed for a National Championship and we cannot wait for next season! #ForItAll
