Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer State Cup Crowns Champions!

This past weekend, the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer State Cup turned up the heat with electrifying matches between the region's top youth teams. Held at the WSFS Bank Sportsplex, the tournament saw champions across various age groups, showcasing incredible talent and unwavering determination. This marked the first year the State Cups were held at this state-of-the-art facility.

 

Young Stars Shine Bright

From the U12 age group to U19, the competition was fierce. Check out some of our favorite game moments and impressive performances: 

 

  • The game between Reading Rage Pugh and Penn FC Youth was an edge-of-your-seat battle! In the end, Ellie Leffler from Reading Rage Pugh launched a lofted shot that found the net just minutes after Penn FC Youth had tied the score. It was an exciting game with a total of 9 goals.
  • Another 9-goal match with a hat-trick by Mattie Williams (U16 Girls Presidents Cup)
  • A U12 Lower Merion derby with a second-half comeback and overtime victory (U12 Presidents Cup)
  • In another exciting game, coach Chris Tomarelli led his daughter's team, Springfield SC, to victory in the U15 Girls' championship

Several teams deserve special recognition for their outstanding performances. Here are some highlights from the weekend:

 

  • Reading Rage SC: Their U14 and U16 Girls teams achieved a remarkable feat, winning back-to-back State Cup championships (NCS).
  • YMS (Youth Master Soccer): Boasting an impressive showing, they had 7 teams participate, with 3 emerging victorious in the NCS competition.
  • Keystone FC: A powerhouse presence, they had 7 teams competing, resulting in 3 wins across both the NCS and Presidents Cup.
  • Lower Merion SC (LMSC): LMSC made history by sending both their U12 Boys teams to the President's Cup finals!
  • Springfield SC: This year marked a significant milestone for Springfield SC as they secured their first-ever Presidents Cup victory.
  • Central Susquehanna SC: The U14 Girls team from Central Susquehanna added another trophy to their cabinet, achieving back-to-back Presidents Cup wins.
