FC Pennsylvania Strikers (U18 Girls) and Penn Fusion 98 (U19/20 Boys) became the first Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer teams to clinch spots at the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships next summer.
The Strikers won the Under-18 Girls White Division of the US Youth Soccer National League by beating Kings Hammer Academy Red (OH-S) 2-0 on Monday, January 2 in Orlando.
The Strikers pushed their record to 6-0-1 in the National League to earn another shot at a national title.
After a 3-1 start in early December, Penn Fusion concluded its campaign with a 3-0 finish in Orlando last week in boys' National League play. Penn Fusion defeated Ohio Galaxies FC 98 Elite (OH-S) 2-0 to clinch a top-two spot in the Red Division.
