Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Announces Special Events for Futbol Friday
Events include a Futbol Friday Happy Hour at Fado Irish Pub and on-site discounts at Modell’s Sporting Goods
Plymouth Meeting, PA (July 15, 2015)—Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer has announced two more events associated with its Futbol Friday celebration.
On Friday, July 24th, the association will be on location at five Philadelphia area Modell’s Sporting Goods including stores in Center City, Northeast Philly, Clifton Heights, the Neshaminy Mall, and Philadelphia Mills. Donation boxes will be set up and 15-percent-off coupons will be handed out in store. A portion of all purchases will go to Red Card Cancer and the Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple University Hospital.
In the evening, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer will host a Futbol Friday Happy Hour at Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant at 15th and Locust in Center City from 5-8 PM. Drink and appetizer specials will be available to anyone wearing a soccer jersey or shirt. In addition, all participants will be entered into a raffle to win prizes from Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer’s various partners.
“Friday, July 24th is a day anyone and everyone can show their support in the fight against cancer,” Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer CEO Chris Branscome said. “The support from Modell’s and Fado makes it easier and adds a little fun.”
Futbol Friday is a day to celebrate soccer and raise awareness and donations for cancer research. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer and its partners encourage everyone to wear their favorite soccer jersey on Futbol Friday, which coincides with Philadelphia’s hosting of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup Third-Place and Final matches on July 25th and 26th.
Donations can be made at EPYSA.org/Events/Futbol_Friday and at participating locations across Eastern Pennsylvania and beyond. One-hundred percent of all proceeds will go to Red Card Cancer and the Fox Chase Cancer Center at the Temple University Hospital.
Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer will further promote the event through social networking using #FutbolFriday. The association will post pictures with participants wearing their jerseys. Everyone who participates is encouraged to make a minimum donation of $5.
