Philadelphia native and US Soccer legend Walter Bahr turns 90 on Saturday.

Bahr played for the Philadelphia Nationals as an amateur player and represented the United States at both the Olympics and the 1950 World Cup. It was at the latter tournament that he and his teammates became immortals. Bahr assisted on Joe Gaetjens' goal as the Americans upset heavily favored England, 1-0.

Bahr returned to Philadelphia to coach at Frankford High School and then Temple University. He also coached at Penn State from 1974-1988. At all three stops, he mentored many of the coaches who are still making their mark on the youth game today.
