LDSA TOPSoccer

LDSA topsoccer opening day 2019

Since 2005, Lower Dauphin Soccer Association has brought the beautiful game to special needs youth in the capital region. On Sunday, March 10, LDSA TOPSoccer kicked off its spring season in Hershey. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer stopped by to drop off new pinnies, cones and pug goals for LDSA as well as to take in the sights and sounds of the training session.

They said it...

Nick Messner, 2018 Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer TOPSoccer Buddy of the Year: One of my favorite things about coming to new sessions is seeing the new players that are here. You never really know what they’re going to bring to the table, but it’s always great to have new kids here. Expanding the program is something we’ve done over the past couple of years. With the help of Roxy (Gies) and Mel (Rowe), it’s been amazing.

Nicole Boyd, 2016 Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer TOPSoccer Buddy of the Year: I’ve been with (TOPSoccer) for 10 years. I started in middle school, and I am now in charge in helping with buddies. I do this because I love special ed. I want to be a special education teacher and this is what led me into that field. It’s really just a passion getting to work with the kids.

Deborah Parker, LDSA TOPSoccer parent of Jacob, Sophia and Liam: TOPSoccer has been tremendous in our lives. They’ve gone from not even wanting to touch a soccer ball, not wanting to get out of the car when they were young to now looking forward to coming to practice all the time, putting the jersey on. They have a ton of friends on the team.

About TOPSoccer>>TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girls, age four & older, who has a mental or physical disability.
