The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. The D License is an extension of the Grassroots Courses:

  • Based on all four game models (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11).
  • Purpose is to facilitate the improvement of the grassroots coach in all six tasks of a coach: coaching games, coaching training sessions, managing the performance environment, leading the team, leading the player, leadership.
  • Focus on learning how to design, execute, and reflect on training sessions.
  • Candidates will now have to coach at least one on-field training session with youth demo players during the course (current plan includes each candidate receiving an opportunity to get on-field practical experience during both weekends)
  • Course takes place over nine weeks, with field and classroom sessions on two different weekends (8am-4pm Saturday & Sunday).

Eligibility Requirements:

To register for the U.S. Soccer D course, all applicants must meet the following prerequisites:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Currently coaching or have access to a team U6-U12
  • Have completed Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
  • Have completed Two (2) GR IP courses and one (1) GR OL course

or

  • Have completed Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
  • Previously Earned USSF E License

or

  • Have completed Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
  • Previously Earned USSF F License
  • Two (2) Additional Grassroots In-Person (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11)
