What We’ve Been Up To…

Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer has been busy over the last several months. Not only did we partner with The Philadelphia Union to host the 2022 Army-Navy Cup last weekend, but we also supported the two-month-long soccer stint, better known as the Philadelphia International Unity Cup, through to the final match, where we presented the Fair Play Awards.

To round out our list of exciting events, we’ll also celebrated our 75th anniversary year at our annual Hall of Fame Banquet on October 15th, 2022. Learn a little more about each event below. Army Navy Cup On Friday, October 7th, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer was an active participant at the Army Navy Cup as we rooted for both Army and Navy, sticking to our commitment to promoting fair soccer games in the Pennsylvania area.

Our very own National Championship player, Isabella Brown, received the honorary First Lieutenant Travis Manion & Corporal Michael Crescenz Award. The Manion Crescenz Award is granted to two high school-aged soccer players who best exemplify the spirit of the outstanding men who gave their lives during service to our country.

“I feel extremely grateful to be receiving this honorary award,” commented Isabella. “Thanks to my dad, a law enforcement officer, for teaching me to be a leader and respect others while leading. Without him, I would not be receiving this award.”

The Philadelphia International Unity Cup is a World Cup-style tournament held over several months connecting the city’s neighborhoods and celebrating its diverse immigrant communities through soccer. The brainchild of Mayor Jim Kenney, the Unity Cup became an annual tradition after its massively successful inaugural year in 2016. This year, we were thrilled to present the overall winner of our Fair Play Award: Vietnam!
