Joe Amorim receiving 2022 United Soccer Coaches Letter of Commendation

Amorin-MSOvGwynnedd-2008-09-24-639Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association Hall of Fame inductee Joe Amorim has been named as the recipient of a 2022 United Soccer Coaches Letter of Commendation. The award is presented annually to a member of the soccer community for their service to, impact on, and/or positive influence on the association and/or the game of Soccer in the United States.

Joe was inducted into the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association Hall of Fame in 2020 after previously being named to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Hall of Fame in 2015. No stranger to receiving recognition, Eastern PA Youth Soccer’s first-ever Director of Coaching was awarded the prestigious Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association’s Excellence in Coaching Award in 2013.

The former head men’s soccer coach at Haverford College, Joe coached numerous All-Conference and All-Academic players in teams during his 27 years leading the program. Prior to coaching, Joe graduated with a bachelor’s degree from La Salle University and a master’s degree from Villanova University. Joe is highly respected among his former players and coaching peers. 

The award will be presented during the United Soccer Coaches Convention, which this year will be in Philadelphia. The presentation will be made at our annual Awards Banquet, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
