Farrelly was one of two ODP alums from Eastern PA in the starting XI for Ireland. Sellersville native Marissa Sheva also started in the match, earning her second cap.

Farrelly, who recently came out of retirement to sign for NJ/NY Gotham FC in the NWSL, played 60 minutes. The former FC Delco and University of Virginia star represented the U.S. at the U-17, U-20 and U-23 levels so she needed to receive clearance for a one-time switch from FIFA.

Sheva, who plays in the NWSL for Washington Spirit, played 86 minutes in the match.  Sheva started her professional career in 2020 in Spain after playing college soccer at Penn State and her youth club soccer with Penn Fusion.

Emily Fox scored her first senior national team goal in the first half and Lindsey Horan converted a penalty in the second half to lead the U.S. to the 2-0 win.

Julie Ertz, who was an honorary co-chair of the Philadelphia 2026 bid committee, marked her return to the U.S. for the first time in two years when she came off the bench in the 67th minute. Ertz was recognized for earning her 100th national team cap before the game.

The U.S. and Ireland will meet again on Tuesday in St. Louis.
