Eastern Pennsylvania teams had a banner first day as host clubs of the USYS Eastern Presidents Cup, posting a record of 12-2-3 in games played at The Proving Grounds and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School on Friday. 

Play was halted midway into the first half of the second set of games at The Proving Grounds for heavy storms but the three-hour delay didn't slow the early momentum for the Eastern PA squads. 

PA Classics boys and girls 17U teams posted impressive 5-0 (girls) and 7-0 (boys) results in their first matches and Warrington SC Storm had a 7-0 result in their opening match at Plymouth Whitemarsh. 

"We're representing PA so we know we gotta do good since it's here," said PA Classics midfielder Roberto Lozano. "It feels really good to score seven goals today; it's a confidence booster."  

Keystone Elite rallied in the second half of their 12U boys game to pull out a win. They scored twice in the second half to notch the 3-2 win. West Mont United's two girls teams each won their opening match in the oldest and young age divisions. 

Central Susquehanna SC Phoenix took a 1-0 lead with 25 minutes to play but conceded an equalizer with 12 minutes to go on a chipped goal from distance and had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The other two draws (Keystone Athletic and Lehigh Valley United) were scoreless.
