The U.S. Men's National Team are Concacaf Nations League champions for the second time after beating Canada 2-0 in the final in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
Center back Chris Richards and forward Folarin Balogun became the first and second players to score their first international goals in a Final, with both first-half goals assisted by midfielder Gio Reyna as the USMNT claimed its third consecutive Concacaf tournament, adding to its 2021 Nations League and 2021 Gold Cup titles.
The commanding win over Canada came after a 3-0 win over Mexico on Thursday. Interim head coach B.J. Callaghan, a former Eastern PA ODP coach, guided the team over both victories and Hershey, Pa. native Christian Pulisic was named the tournament's best player. Another Eastern PA native, former ODP player Auston Trusty, was on the field at the end after subbing in to help close out the clean sheet and secure the win.
The U.S. won't have long to wait to seek another trophy. They play Jamaica on Saturday in Chicago to open group play in the Concacaf Gold Cup.
