FC Ballyhoo and Steel United PA advance to semifinals of USYS National Presidents Cup

6N4A3048FC Ballyhoo and Steel United PA are moving on to the semifinals of the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup in Wichita, Kansas after a successful final day of group play.

FC Ballyhoo bounced back from an opening day loss on Friday with their second straight win to win their group and advance. They lost 3-1 to BSC Raiders on Friday then beat Southern Homestead 1-0 on Saturday and Prime SC 2-0 on Sunday. 

Ballyhoo plays Fire FC United in a 16U Boys semifinal at 9 a.m. eastern time on Monday. The game will be streamed live on YouTube by Upper 90 TV.

Steel United PA made it three wins out of three with a 3-2 win over PacNW Maroon on Sunday. Steel United had their first game on Friday postponed due to inclement weather and picked up a 2-0 win Saturday morning over TSC Williamson and a 1-0 win over Detroit FC West late that afternoon. 

Steel United plays Ignite FC in a 14U Girls semifinal on Monday at 2 p.m. eastern time. The game will be streamed live on YouTube by Upper 90 TV.

Five other teams from Eastern Pennsylvania were competing in the finals but were stopped short of advancing out of group play. Central Susquehanna Phoenix (13U Girls), Southern Chester County Dragons (15U Boys), Keystone Athletic (16U Girls), PA Classics (17U Girls) and Hulmeville SC Dortmund (18U Boys) all saw their Presidents Cup campaigns end on Sunday.
