Marissa Sheva is among the 25 players called into the Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team ahead of a pair of UEFA Nations League games on Sept. 23 and 26.
Sheva, a former ODP and Penn Fusion standout from Sellersville who plays in the NWSL for Washington Spirit, was on the Irish team during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup over the summer.
Fellow ODP alum Sinead Farrelly was also on the team but the Gotham FC midfielder from Havertown wasn’t called up this time around.
Ireland hosts Northern Ireland in Dublin on Sept. 23 and travels to Budapest to take on Hungary on Sept. 26.
Sheva earned her first call-up to the Ireland senior national team in February, making her international debut on February 22 in a friendly against China. Playing as a forward for Ireland, Sheva appeared in all three of the country’s group stage matches at this summer’s Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, bringing her cap total to seven.
Since joining the Spirit in 2022, the 26-year-old Penn State grad has made 21 total appearances with the side, tallying one goal and over 800 minutes of action across all competitions.
