The European Champion League Cup will be making its way to the City of Brotherly Love.
In cooperation with Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer, Premier League side Chelsea FC, the reigning European Champions, will bring the Champions League Trophy to Philadelphia.
The Cup will be on display for fans at Love Park, 15th and JFK Boulevard adjacent to the Christmas Village. The trophy will be on display from 11:00AM to 3:00 PM. Soccer fans can take photos of and with the trophy.
Following the showcase at Love Park, the trophy will travel to a youth clinic that is being held for selected players in the community in the Philadelphia area. In addition, Chelsea ambassador and international soccer star Tore Andre Flo will be in attendance.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the many players, coaches and families we serve as well as the incredible, world-class soccer fans of Philadelphia to see this iconic trophy,” Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer CEO Chris Branscome said. “We’re honored to partner with one of the leading clubs in world soccer to provide this opportunity as well as the clinics.”
However, the events do not end there. On December 5, there will be a clinic open to coaches – with some assistance from youth soccer players – at 3:00 p.m. at PA Classics Park. The Champions League will be at the clinic from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A parent or guardian of those participating in the clinics will be required to fill out a disclaimer form once they arrive at the clinic.
