ALLENTOWN, Pa. (May 1, 2016) – The 2016 Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup Championships concluded Sunday with 12 championship matches at the Lehigh County Sport Fields.
A total of 178 boys and girls teams started the competition in March. Just 24 were left standing on Sunday to compete in the finals. The winning teams will advance to the US Youth Soccer Region I Presidents Cup Finals in Reistertown, Maryland May 28-30, where they will play for a spot in the Presidents Cup National Championship.
The U12 Boys and Girls runners-up as well as the U13 Girls runner-up will also compete at the regional championships.
The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.
