Resident Camp Week One Wraps Up

Friends

Week one of Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Resident Camp at Bryn Athyn College concluded Thursday afternoon. More than 200 young players took part in the camp, enjoying soccer, yoga, volleyball and other activities. The camp is designed to give kids an opportunity to train with quality coaches while enjoying an overnight experience with their friends and contemporaries.

Gianna Verdone (pictured below) attended resident camp for the second summer in a row. She first got involved in soccer with the Pottstown Soccer for Success program.

"It was really cool, because when I started there I didn’t really know a lot," Gianna said. "And then as soon as I got more involved with the program, it was easy and cool."

She's since expanded her game. Gianna, 14, will play for Pottsgrove Middle School this fall. For now, she's relishing her time at camp.

"Playing with a whole bunch of different girls and making friends, and learning more stuff about soccer," she said when asked what she likes most about camp. "(And) Just like setting a goal for myself."

We thank all the players and parents who made week one a success. We look forward to the start of week two on Sunday!
