On Saturday, May 20, the Rothman Institute will host its annual Youth Sports Safety Symposium for Coaches at the Panasonic Club at Lincoln Financial Field.

The event runs 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM with a wide variety of panels, speakers, discussions and demonstrations intended to better educate coaches on proper safety practices for their young athletes.

St. Joseph's University Men's Basketball Coach Phil Martelli is the featured speaker, while former Eagles wide receiver Jason Avant will speak about the importance of coaches from a player's perspective.

Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer CEO Chris Branscome will be on a "Keeping Our Kids Safe In Sports" panel.
