Plymouth Meeting—January 5, 2015— Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Technical Director Mike Barr was recently elected to the Pennsylvania State Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame as part of the 2015 class. As the head coach at Strath Haven High School, Barr went 409-85-46 from 1984 to 2005. Barr's Panthers won 15 Central League titles, six District 1 championships, and five PIAA Class AAA state championships. He currently serves as coach of Kennett High School in addition to his duties with Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer.
"It's a tremendous honor," said Barr of his Hall of Fame election. "I've been lucky to have such great players over my career."
Barr is joined in the 2015 class by former Archbishop Ryan coach George Todt, who won a state record 649 games over 44 seasons at the helm of the Raiders. Both men will be honored at an induction ceremony at the Radisson Hotel in Camp Hill, PA later this year.
"We've always said we were lucky to have Mike work with our players and youth so closely," Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer CEO Chris Branscome said. "He's a special coach and a special person. He fully deserves this distinction."
