Three Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer players were recently recognized on a national level for their exploits in high school soccer.
Murphy Agnew, of YMS and formerly of Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer and Region I ODP, was named Gatorade Pennsylvania Girls Soccer Player of the Year. She had 29 goals and 15 assists for Villa Joseph Marie last season and will attend Harvard University this fall. Murphy and YMS Premier Xplosion will play for their second consecutive US Youth Soccer National Championship in August.
Max Zandi (Defender, West Chester Henderson) and Matt Freese (Goalkeeper, Episcopal Academy) were both named to the USA Today All-USA Boys Soccer Second Team. Max, a Villanova University commit, has been a five-time Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup winner with Penn Fusion Soccer Academy Elite '98. He will compete with Penn Fusion at next week's US Youth Soccer Region I Championships after winning the U19/20 Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup earlier this month. Matt previously played for Penn Fusion Elite 98 as well as FC Europa and Radnor Soccer Club. He currently represents the Philadelphia Union academy. He, too, will attend Harvard in the fall.
Congratulations to all three and best of luck in your bright futures!
