Three EPA ODP Players Selected to the USYS ODP National Teams
Over the past few months, US Youth Soccer has hosted two events to help decide the ODP National Team rosters for their International Trips. The ODP Interregional Events were held in Boca, Raton, Florida for the girls and Bradenton, Florida for the boys. After the Interregional Event, an OPD national pool was named and they attended the ODP National Team Camp held in Tampa, Florida.
Eastern Pennsylvania ODP had 27 players participate in the regional event and 11 players in the national identification camp. This is the first year that the Olympic Development Program has named a National Team for the older age groups.
While at the ODP National Team Camp, these players participated in training sessions in front of the National Team coaches and their training staff. These coaches observed and evaluated the talent of each player and selected their teams for their international trips to Spain, Scotland, Netherlands and France in April.
The fact that we were represented by so many players in the process shows the value of ODP in our state and the training they received at their clubs. Imagine the thousands of Olympic Development Players who represented their state associations last year and Eastern Pennsylvania had 38 players selected to this prestigious event. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer is proud to announce the three players selected to the National ODP Team:
