On Sunday, October 7, Upper Dublin Soccer Club and Colonial Soccer Club got together for their third annual TOPSoccer play day. Dozens of players, parents, volunteers and buddies attended at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.

Here's what some of them had to say:

Bruce Buckman, TOPSoccer Administrator, Upper Dublin SC: We started in 1999, so we’re going on 20 years now. We have kids from five to 24, and we play on five or six fields every weekend where the kids are matched by age and ability. We get buddies from the high school and the community, and it’s a great time for everybody.

Joe Hunter, TOPSoccer Administrator, Colonial SC: I do not have a child with special needs of my own. When people ask me why I do this, I say because I can, and it’s easy to do. We have helpers come out from the high school. It’s a very rewarding program for me. Parents are involved. Kids had a great time on the field today. What more can you ask for?

Lisa Nicolosi, parent, Colonial SC: We love the organization. It’s been a wonderful experience for my son. He likes to be out there and have fun, and he’s made some great friends through TOPSoccer, so we love it.

Jacobe Sandcroft, TOPSoccer Buddy, Plymouth Whitemarsh High School: This is my first year at TOPSoccer. My dad introduced me to it. I’m very excited to be here. I think the kids have a lot of fun.

Jake Weiner, TOPSoccer Buddy, Penn Charter: I heard about (TOPSoccer), because one of the players is in my grade, and his mom introduced me to it. I did it for my bar mitzvah project, and I kept doing it. At first, it takes some getting used to, but then it’s really fun. It’s exciting to come every week.
