U.S. Men's National Team Picks Up Valuable Point In Honduras

Bobby Wood

After a difficult 2-0 loss to Costa Rica on Friday, the United States Men's National Team responded well Tuesday in Honduras, earning a 1-1 draw. The hosts took the lead midway through the first half and held on as the Americans struggled in crippling heat.

But late in the second half, substitute Bobby Wood found the crucial equalizer to earn a point. The United States now sits in fourth place in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying, one point behind third place Panama. Two qualifying games remain for the Americans. They'll host Panama in Orlando on October 6 before traveling to Trinidad & Tobago for the finale.
