CITYPARK in St. Louis will play host to the rematch between the U.S. Women's National Team and the Republic of Ireland tonight.
The new home of Major League Soccer expansion team St. Louis City SC welcomes two teams that played Saturday in Austin. Emily Fox scored her first career goal in the first half and Lindsey Horan added a penalty kick in the second half to lead the U.S. to the 2-0 win. The USWNT has six wins in six matches in 2023.
Former Eastern PA ODP players Sinead Farrelly and Marissa Sheva started in Saturday's match for the Republic of Ireland. The start marked Farrelly's senior national team debut for Ireland after representing the U.S. at the U-17, U-20 and U-23 levels. Sheva earned her second cap.
Julie Ertz, an honorary co-chair of the 2026 Philadelphia bid, made her return to the U.S. team off the bench in Saturday's match. It was her first appearance for the U.S. since the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. The appearance was No. 117 for Ertz, who was honored pre-game for previously earning her 100th cap during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The unfortunate news from Saturday's game was the injury to Mallory Swanson in the first half. Swanson suffered a torn patella tendon in her left knee and has returned to Chicago for further evaluation. Eighteen-year-old forward Alyssa Thompson has replaced Swanson on the roster.
Tonight's game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. eastern and will be broadcast live on HBO Max, Universo and Peacock.
